Emily is such a gifted teacher! My 5 year old daughter was very invested in her instruction and we love the self portrait she created! My 3 year old jumped in at one point too. :) I highly recommend Emily's classes. She is gifted both at illustration and teaching! I love her calm, friendly voice, her view on the importance of creativity and how to instill it and how she structures her video.

This course was so much fun to do with my 3 y/o! I loved having the direction from Emily, but how she still left room for toddler "artistic liberties". We gathered leaves together and talked about what would work best for our owl, and he was so excited to get home and put them to use. The fairy tale reading in the video was also a huge hit!

Emily’s art classes are great for busy parents, homeschooling parents, teachers and anyone who would like to encourage the young people in their life to learn new art skills and be more creative

My kids really loved the self-portrait art tutorial. It kept them engaged in that activity for an entire hour, and they were so proud of their finished self-portraits. We’ve framed them and hung them up in their rooms, and they’re one of our favourite art pieces in the house. Such a keepsake! They found the art instructions from Emily easy to follow, and I think there is something less intimidating about following along virtually versus taking an in-person art class. They took the class entirely on their own and completed their piece of art without any help from me. I loved seeing how proud they were of their work and the tips they learned. Emily’s art classes are great for busy parents, homeschooling parents, teachers and anyone who would like to encourage the young people in their life to learn new art skills and be more creative

I wholeheartedly recommend these classes for anyone who wants to bring more creativity into their home.

I'm so thankful I discovered Gather Make Art! I'm a busy Waldorf/Unschool homeschool mom of four young children. All of my kids are wonderfully creative, but my oldest is an especially gifted artist. We needed a creativity mentor, and Gather Make Art has been just that. Emily is gentle, inclusive, and so encouraging. I’ve really seen a noticeable shift in the type of creativity happening in my home. Emily has taught us how to take our curiosities and explore those through art. My kids’ art journals are now full of beautiful pieces that they’ve made from Emily’s lessons. I will cherish those forever! I wholeheartedly recommend these classes for anyone who wants to bring more creativity into their home.

My first introduction to Emily’s Gather Make Art courses was with my 5 year old daughter and her dear friend, who completed the “Draw yourself as a Brave Princess” course. Both girls sat at the kitchen table with pink fluffy tiaras on their heads and crisp, new sketchpads in front of them. One of the things I loved most about the virtual art class was how accessible and inclusive it was for a variety of age groups, artistic abilities and life experiences. The videos are beautifully done and I loved the background details that Emily included to help the artists immerse themselves in the topic while mulling over what being a brave princess might look like. Both girls and their moms thoroughly enjoyed this course. Being 5, the girls didn’t sit still long enough to watch ALL the included videos but for the videos they did watch, both were engaged and eager to get started. They sketched first and then added water-colour to their brave princesses. I would highly recommend Gather Make Art to anyone who enjoys being creative or would like a little more art in their life. Makes for a great playdate activity too!
